TRAINING SAFETY

Athlete safety is an absolute top priority. Individuals are assessed for underlying issues, thoroughly instructed on every piece of equipment, constantly supervised, and educated on proper mechanics. Quality always over quantity.  

PROGRAM EFFICIENCY

Work on every important element within a balanced strength and conditioning program: functional strength, power, speed, coordination, core stabilization, flexibility, mobility, balance, and endurance. 

  WHAT IS REVIVAL'S SPORTS PERFORMANCE PROGRAM?

Designed for 10-21 year old athletes in central PA, our private sports performance program is designed to enhance each individual's performance and skill sets to ensure they become a more well-rounded competitor. Our newly designed facility and expansion are a perfect environment for athletes looking to workout in a supportive, structured, fun environment. We offer 1-month and 3-month options and then each athlete can choose to come 2, 3, or 4 times per week.

 

The workouts are done in a group setting but executed on an individual basis, allowing each athlete to follow his/her written workout plan at their own pace, supervised by at least 2 coaches at all times. Days per week will depend on current season of sport, physical needs, and overall athletic capabilities. You can join at any time, and each option is adaptable to every sport, season, and position. All workouts will be customized based on sport season, academic load, and practice volume. Those who train consistently even in-season, have demonstrated not only maintenance of their summer improvements, but continued and exponential growth of all sports performance qualities. 

 

Sessions are offered Monday-Thursday and athletes can come in at any time between 3pm-5:30pm to complete their workout, as long as they finish by 5:30. For ages 10-14, the workouts will range from 45-60 minutes. For ages 14+, the workouts will vary between 60-90 minutes. 

 

For the younger athletes, the workouts focus on building movement patterns and establishing a solid foundation by performing functional, full body exercises and starting with bodyweight as resistance. We also focus a lot on conditioning, endurance, and coordination to help increase stamina and to ensure that their bodies can perform more efficiently once they are fatigued. This group is very educational and instructional, ensuring that athletes are guided properly through each day.

For the older athletes, their workouts build on top of formerly established skills and movement patterns, while correcting any faulty ones. Focusing more on heavier resistance training and functional strength, power, speed, single arm and leg exercises, and complex, dynamic movements, this group will take their training to a whole new level. We believe in training kids to be better athletes, not just better at a single sport.

Injury prevention and overall recovery are two other huge focuses here in our sports performance program. We screen and assess each athlete individually before they start to make sure we get an in-depth look at everything going on and so that we can program accordingly. With sports injuries at an all time high, we do our best to make sure our athletes get well-rounded programming by correcting muscle imbalances, strengthening weaknesses, critiquing jumping and cutting mechanics, working heavily on flexibility and mobility, and consistently enforcing proper form with every movement. While we can't completely eliminate injuries, we certainly do our best to minimize future risk. And for those athletes that unfortunately do get injured, we have a progressive and efficient rehab program that includes working with our onsite athletic trainer and rehab specialist to get you back as soon as possible. 

Coaches for this program are Johnny Martinez, Patrick Jacobs, Stephen Teeters, and Tyler Hunter. All have a minimum of Bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science with two holding Master's degrees, all were previous multi-sport athletes, and together they have combined 35 years of experience. For any athletes that suffer an unfortunate injury, we have a very unique staff list that can help right away. Superman Berrow is our on-site athletic trainer/fascial stretch therapy specialist. He has worked with the Chicago Bears and Penn State football and also has his Master's degree. We also have an on-site Physical Therapist, Dr. Chris Fischer, who is always available to work with our athletes.
