Tyler Hunter, MS

Owner, Orthopedic Rehab Specialist, Performance Coach & Personal Trainer

Tyler resides in Altoona, PA with his wife Arin and 3 year-old daughter, Audrey. He grew up in Bellwood, PA and graduated high school from Bellwood-Antis in 2009. He attended Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio where he received his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science while also minoring in coaching, business, and bible in 2014. In 2016, he received his Masters degree in Kinesiology-Orthopedic Rehabilitation & Corrective Exercise from A.T. Still University. He is also American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.
Tyler has been involved in weight lifting / strength and conditioning training for almost 10 years. He has years of individualized and group fitness training experience and has worked in fitness facilities in Altoona, Tyrone, and Bedford, PA, as well as facilities in Long Beach and Redondo Beach in CA (how can you beat doing personal training on the beach?) He has held a high number of positions in the field, consisting of: facility director, fitness director, corrective exercise specialist, personal trainer, boot camp instructor, group exercise instructor, assistant aquatics director, and lifeguard/swim instructor.
He has been involved in sports his entire life, playing baseball until age 16, playing basketball, soccer, football each for a few years, running both track and cross country all four years in high school, and even bowling competitively in leagues for 6 years. His athletic accolades certainly lie in cross-country, as he capped his career with a 5k personal record time of 17:10, assisting the team to a conference championship, and earning conference All-Star status, as well as Altoona Mirror All-Star status. In track, he ran the 110 and 300 meter hurdle races, 400 and 800 meter runs, 1 and 2 mile races, and the 4x4 and 4x8 relays. Today, Tyler continues his love for running as he competes locally and nationally in a variety of different races. To date, he has completed 5 half marathons and 3 full marathons:

  • 2014 - Pittsburgh Marathon (Pittsburgh, PA)
  • 2015 - Surf City Marathon (Huntington Beach, CA)
  • 2015 - Air Force Marathon (Dayton, OH)
  • 2016 - Yellowstone Half Marathon (Montana) 
  • 2017 - Cumberland Half Marathon (Maryland)
  • 2017 - Old Forge Half Marathon (New York)
  • 2018 - Alamo Half Marathon (San Antonio, TX)

When he's not working, Tyler loves to go camping, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, bowling, watching any kind of sport, running, lifting weights, traveling, regularly attending church, going on mission trips, visiting the beach, water parks, all kinds of food, and most importantly, faithfully and lovingly trying to serve his Savior Jesus Christ / trying to serve and honor God in everything he does.



To facilitate, promote, and ensure quality living among my clientele through the means of individualized, functional training programs, professional relationships and appropriate leadership. By doing so, I hope to decrease risk factors for both acute and chronic diseases, while also improving upon individual strength, endurance, balance, and everyday function. Furthermore, it is my mission to help people not only evolve, but excel; further extending and advancing their physical, mental, and emotional capabilities. Such will be accomplished by consistently and progressively educating said clients, as well as myself, instituting research-based protocols and initiatives, guiding them through innovative and enjoyable exercise programs, following world class safety practices, and creating a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment, all the while following predetermined, professional and individual ethics, morals, and guidelines.
