Patrick Jacobs, MS

 Performance Coach & Personal Trainer

Patrick currently resides in Altoona, PA. He lived in Altoona growing up and graduated from Altoona Area High School in 2010. He attended Slippery Rock University from 2010-2014, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He then went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh from 2014-2015 where he graduated with a master’s degree in Health, Physical Activity, and Chronic Disease. Patrick holds an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist certification and he is CPR/AED/First Aid certified.

 

Patrick has been involved with strength and conditioning programs for about 8 years. He has 5 years of experience implementing and coaching individual and group training programs. He has held personal training, strength and conditioning, and fitness coaching positions in Altoona and Pittsburgh. He has also completed two internships in cardiac rehabilitation, as well as holding positions as a physical therapy aide. He was also a fitness floor supervisor while attending the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Patrick has an extensive athletic background. He played hockey competitively until the age of 21 as a goaltender. He competed at the 2010 USA Hockey National Championship with the Mid State Mustangs in 2010. He also played football, baseball, and ran track. He competed mainly in the 800 meter run, the 1600 meter run, and the 4x800 relay. Patrick currently is a full time ice hockey referee in the USA Hockey Officiating Development program, which develops officials to advance to professional and collegiate levels. He worked the second round of the North American Hockey League playoffs this past season, falling just short of working the league final.

 

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys bowling, playing cards, fishing, and video games. He also enjoys visiting family and friends in the summertime, as the majority of his hockey season is spent traveling.

MISSION STATEMENT

To facilitate, promote, and ensure quality living among my clientele through the means of individualized, functional training programs, professional relationships and appropriate leadership. By doing so, I hope to decrease risk factors for both acute and chronic diseases, while also improving upon individual strength, endurance, balance, and everyday function. Furthermore, it is my mission to help people not only evolve, but excel; further extending and advancing their physical, mental, and emotional capabilities. Such will be accomplished by consistently and progressively educating said clients, as well as myself, instituting research-based protocols and initiatives, guiding them through innovative and enjoyable exercise programs, following world class safety practices, and creating a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment, all the while following predetermined, professional and individual ethics, morals, and guidelines.
